I've no idea how many blow-up dolls got transported Halley, but the
photo below (not very good in the first place and 27 years have taken
their toll) shows at least one of these in pristine condition. I seem to
remember that she unexpectedly arrived in the baggage of one of the
scientists - a farewell present from some of his mates. She starred in a
late winter party, but to the best of my knowledge remained flaccid and
virginal for the rest of the year. Was this the original Rita? I don't think
that she had a name in '79. You really have to be carrying political
correctness to the nth degree to be offended by such an awful object!
