The inscription on the side facing the camera reads:

An inscription on a third side was added after the 1965 crevasse accident:

KILLED IN CREVASSE

On the fourth side, after the death of Miles Mosley in 1980, was added:


In memory of
Miles Vernon Mosley
    No game was ever yet worth a rap for    
a rational man to play into which no
accident, no mishap could possibly
find its way.

The quotation is from a poem by the Australian poet Adam Lindsay Gordon

The photos taken in 2020 show a plaque commemorating the dogs has been placed next to the memorial. This is a copy of the one on the sledge dog memorial in Cambridge.
