Almost identical to the 'official' base winter 1998 photograph having
been taken at the same time. The 'official' photo was derived from a B/W negative whereas this shot is taken on a digital camera. The B/W shot is
mounted in an unusual custom-made circular frame.
The shot is taken from the escape hatch in the floor of the Simpson building, with all the winterers laid on the snow surface directly under the hatch.
